A Birthday Poem

I remember that your birthday
Was just two days ago
I wracked my brain to find a way
To find a gift to show
How much you mean as a dear friend
So funny and so true
From the start to this current end
Of my friendship with you

I had read a short story
You wrote of Julz' Yume
It featured Rosa girly
Your OC that surprised me
I commented, and 'twasn't long
'Til you replied to me
Then Julz replied, and before long
We three talked amiably

Curiosity drove me
To read all Rosa's story
Halfway through chapter fifteen
I could begin to see
How Rosa and Kaiba could work out
As more than chimp and treat
For those opposites, love can sprout
A concept that is neat

I also loved the humor
Written in every chapter
Your style, Kina, while not old lore,
Made me roar with laughter
Being funny is a skill
That comes naturally
To you, the awesome blonde girl
You joke so gracefully

You also have a soft side
One serious and sweet
It shows that you're a true friend
To all of those you meet
For these reasons and more
I wish I had remembered sooner
That your birthday's in October
And on the 5th, no sooner

But at least I remembered
You turned eighteen this year
And two days after that happened
This poem came to be

A memorial to you, Kina
And what you've done for me
